FAQ

Q1: The brake is not releasing when the axis is enabled. The 24V brake coil supply is confirmed at the connector. Is the brake faulty?

With 24V confirmed at the connector, measure resistance across the brake coil terminals at the motor (24V disconnected). A healthy β0.5/3000 brake coil reads in the range of 30–60 Ω. An open-circuit reading confirms a failed coil. If resistance is within range but the brake still doesn't release, check for mechanical binding in the brake disc — contamination or a seized spring can prevent release even when the coil is energised.



Q2: The #0008 suffix — does it mean anything different from the base A06B-0113-B175?

The base B175 configuration is straight shaft with brake. The #0008 suffix adds the keyway to the straight shaft. Without the suffix, the shaft is smooth. Confirm the hub's bore configuration before ordering — a hub designed for a keyed shaft requires the #0008 variant.

Q4: The motor was on a vertical axis. After removal, the shaft has surface marks at the hub contact area. Should it be assessed before reinstalling?

Light contact marks on the straight shaft are cosmetic. If the marks are deep enough to create an uneven seating surface for the hub, the shaft should be evaluated by a motor repair company before refitting. Uneven hub seating on a vertical axis leads to subtle mechanical imbalance, which eventually causes encoder noise and vibration alarms.



Q5: Where are Beta series brake motors sourced?
